Key Role: This position is for a Software Developer to work on an Agile development team for the Geospatial Visualization Services (GVS) program. The Software Developer will be involved in all phases of the software development process including capability definition, design, development, test, and demonstration during 2 week sprints. The Software Developer must be able to communicate effectively with the team at daily scrums to work through road blocks to resolve issues quickly. In addition to working sprint activities, the Software Engineer will also be required to support the O&S team troubleshoot issues with the production system and fix production defects for delivery in a sprint release.
1.) Experience working on a Agile Software Development Team with complete understanding of the Agile principles and real world application of those principles.
2.) Knowledge and Experience with any of the following items:
- b) Experience interfacing with GIS Systems and Tools such as ArcGIS, OGC Services, KML or Web Mapping Libraries such as OpenLayers and Cesium
3.) Familiar with writing Unit Tests for developed software using tools such as JUnit, Selenium, and Jenkins
4) Active TS/SCI Clearance
1.) Familiar with virtualization technologies with an emphasis on cloud environments such as AWS or C2S and experience leveraging deployment automation technologies such as Chef
2.) Experience with automated testing using tools such as Karma, Grunt and Jenkins
3.) Familiarity with the geospatial domain and technologies (Google Earth, Google Maps, ArcGIS, OpenLayers, Cesium, WMS, WFS, KML, GeoRSS/GeoJSON)
4.) Working knowledge and experience integrating with database systems such as MySQL, and PostgreSQL/PostGIS)
5.) Previous Scrum Master experience in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
6.) Large Scale software projects using C++ as well as in depth knowledge of Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu)
7.) An independent worker that will complete tasks with minimal supervision and guidance
